Waukegan, IL - Nosco, Inc., a full-service supplier of printed packaging for Healthcare markets, is excited to announce its acquisition of the Healthcare packaging business of Ross PPD Corporation, a commercial and packaging printer based in Cleveland, Ohio. Through the acquisition, Nosco will acquire a number of healthcare-related customers. This new purchase will create greater value for Ross's and Nosco's existing healthcare clients by providing a wider variety of available packaging products and services. Nosco will also obtain new printing equipment to compliment its existing technology portfolio, which will enable new market penetration.
"Our main goal was to expand on our family's legacy of great products and services to our Healthcare business clients," said Chul Kim, founder and former CEO of Ross PPD. "Nosco is a leader in the healthcare and other regulated industries. We are excited that Nosco will be helping our clients grow and adapt in the fast-paced healthcare environment," Kim added.
Ross has more than 30 years of experience focusing on solutions for the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device markets. Through its family-owned origins, Ross is a good cultural match with Nosco's employee-owned business model.
"This transaction felt right from the beginning. Even though Nosco is significantly larger than us, they have the family-owned culture that our clients expect and demand," said Kim.
In addition, Nosco is excited to add additional UV capabilities through the inclusion of a Komori Lithrone UV Offset Press, which will reside in Nosco's Waukegan plant. The press will allow Nosco to expand its offerings to meet more client needs. UV inks are brighter and more durable than typical inks, and the press accepts a wider variety of substrates, including metallized and recycled materials. This technology will also enable Nosco to bring additional decorative capabilities to other markets, including Personal Care and Natural Health.
"Ross's Healthcare business is a great strategic fit for Nosco, both from a customer and capability standpoint. The Ross team has served their Healthcare customers exceedingly well, enabling a smooth transition to Nosco and an opportunity for us to offer additional solutions to those clients." said Russ Haraf, President of Nosco. "In addition, we are excited to be adding a conventional UV offset printing press to compliment our existing UV capability in digital."
Through the combination of the two companies, Nosco will gain more technology and expertise to help solve customers' complex packaging needs and create innovative one-to-one solutions.
Peter Schaefer, of New Direction Partners, introduced the two firms and represented Ross PPD in this transaction.
